Run From Evil

You can’t escape the devil inside you…

When a nosey couple report that an elderly neighbour hasn’t been seen for a few days, local police investigate and make the grisly discovery before calling in the Major Crimes Team.

Detective Chief Inspector Freya Bloom and Detective Inspector Savage lead the investigation, discovering conflicting evidence. Albert Reilly suffered a heart attack but has a single head wound. The back door is locked but a little window beside it is broken, and there is no sign of a struggle.

The mystery deepens when they discover that not only is Reilly’s oldest friend missing, but none of his surviving family were on speaking terms with him, leaving Freya and Ben no option but to treat the death as suspicious – the problem is that every one of them wanted him dead, they each had a key to his house, and they all have something to hide.

The multifaceted investigation proves to be one of their most challenging endeavours which is only amplified by conflicting personalities within the team and the loss of a colleague.
