Prince of Blood is the first book of The Krondor's Sons series (aka The Serpentwar Series - this name has been used sometimes because Prince of the Blood and The King's Buccaneer are an introduction to The Serpentwar Saga).
In my opinion Prince of the Blood is an entertaining book, but it's not as good as The Riftwar Saga of The Serpentwar Saga. It's worth reading, because it's a good book.
