C. J. Box
C. J. Box

C. J. Box is an author whose stories feel as vast and untamed as the Wyoming landscapes that shape them. Love his novels and his use of the word flummoxed. Shadows Reel was a masterpiece but it had excessive blood and gore and deviant torture. Reading Storm Watch now and so far one partial decapitation. The stand-alone Blue Heaven was great...but that ending!

I’ve read all the Joe Pickett novels by Box. I thought Shadow Reel was not as good as the others but I think you will really like the remaining ones.  If you didn’t know, there is a Joe Pickett series on Paramount+.  Also, you would probably like the Mike Bowditch series by Paul Doiron. The main character is a Game Warden in Maine.
