Charlotte Buckley’s The Flamebearer Trilogy is a dark romantic fantasy set in Valen, a kingdom ruled by powerful vampires whose hunger for influence is far more dangerous than any thirst for blood. At its center is Finn Erramun, one of the last surviving witches, who has hidden her magic and her troubled past while working as a maid in the court of King Mordric. Once driven from her village amid rumors of an otherworldly terror, Finn knows that revealing her abilities could change everything.
When Mordric discovers her secret, he offers Finn an unexpected opportunity: learn to control her magic before the summer solstice and earn a place on his royal council. Her teacher is Prince Enhart, the king’s arrogant and mysterious younger brother, whose growing connection with Finn complicates her attraction to Mordric. As she struggles to master her powers, Finn becomes entangled in dangerous political rivalries, divided loyalties, and a conspiracy reaching back centuries.
Blending forbidden magic, a royal love triangle, and the shadowy intrigues of a vampire court, the trilogy explores the uneasy relationship between power, desire, and freedom.
