The Shadowbound Series

Catharina Maura’s The Shadowbound Series is a romantic fantasy of ancient curses, forbidden magic, and love caught between rival kingdoms. The story begins with Princess Arabella of Althea, whose future is decided when Felix Osiris, the feared Shadow Emperor, threatens her homeland unless she agrees to become his wife. But beyond his intimidating reputation lies an empire trapped beneath a terrible curse, and Arabella may possess the very magic needed to break it.

Forced into an uneasy alliance, Arabella and Felix must navigate dangerous secrets, shifting loyalties, and feelings neither expected. Their marriage begins as a bargain born of necessity, but the closer they come to understanding each other, the harder it becomes to separate duty from desire.

Drawing on the familiar enchantment of Beauty and the Beast, the series expands into a world of witches, supernatural rulers, lost memories, and kingdoms threatened by war. At its heart are characters whose greatest struggles are not simply against curses or enemies, but against the sacrifices demanded by love and the weight of their own destinies.
