The Detective Tommy Kelly series takes readers to the edges of New England where memory runs deep and silence can be deadly. When long-buried remains are uncovered on Nantucket, Kelly is pulled into a case that forces him to navigate not just the island’s windswept landscapes but also the secrets of a community that does not welcome outsiders.
Kelly is no detached investigator. He is a father, a man shaped by his own struggles, and his empathy cuts close to the bone when the crimes he faces involve children and families. Partnered with local detective Jo Harris, he learns that solving a mystery in a place like Nantucket means confronting decades of unspoken history, where loyalty and resentment intertwine.
Told with the grit of classic crime fiction and the haunting detail of New England noir, the series blends cold-case intrigue with psychological depth. Each book pulls the reader further into Kelly’s world, where the past never stays buried and every truth carries a cost.
