Ivy Merriweather survived her first Halloween season in Harvest Hollow. She has more than earned a quiet November... she is not going to get one.

Between Thanksgiving preorders, a donut fryer that refuses to cooperate, and a chonky orange cat named Nutmeg who now holds an official badge and expects his daily saucer of cream to arrive on schedule, Ivy has plenty on her plate. An anonymous crate of impossible apples isn’t helping.

Then Conrad Lowry walks into Witchcakes with impeccable manners and an ugly accusation... Ivy’s beloved grandmother stole the recipe for the bakery’s signature maple muffins. He wants access to Rosemary’s recipe cards and a public apology.

Ivy tells him no.

When Conrad turns up dead in a vacant shop, the police chief is happy to call it an accident. If Ivy insists otherwise, he has a convenient suspect in mind. After all, Conrad threatened her family’s reputation in front of a bakery full of witnesses.

With Nutmeg keeping the case in order... and snack breaks firmly on the schedule... Ivy starts looking into the man who seemed so pleased to meet her. But old grudges, missing cookbook pages, and a daughter reluctant to talk about her father make it difficult to know whom to believe.
