Death of a Rich Man

For Detective Jackson, the murder of a billionaire landlord seems like a slam-dunk case against the leader of a local Renters Rebellion. Then the taskforce discovers provocative images on the victim’s laptop and pursues another more-deviant motive. But the rich man’s widow has the chief of police on speed-dial and fights to shut down the investigation into her husband’s private life.

The case takes another unexpected turn when the widow is kidnapped and Detective Evans is pulled off the team to check out an accidental drowning. When the victim’s sister abruptly dies too, Evans digs even deeper into the family’s secrets.

The detectives must defy the police chief and risk their jobs to find the shocking truth that binds their investigations. But can they make the connection in time to stop a killer?
