Steve moonlights as an engineer working on a spacecraft in the Arizona desert, along with Will Greylock, Ginny's older brother. Will has determined that there are intelligent beings on the moon. Neither Will nor the U.S. government has any inkling as to the nature of these moonsprites, and everyone is anxious to make contact. But when the time comes to test the would-be spacecraft, a host of bugs, snafus, and angry spirits conspire to prevent the launch.
