Cold Light

In the Avril Dahl series, the lines between justice and obsession blur in a chilling world where the past refuses to stay buried. This atmospheric thriller invites readers to follow FBI Special Agent Avril Dahl, a woman who carries the weight of a personal tragedy while tracking down dangerous criminals. Her relentless pursuit of justice often leads her down a dark and treacherous path—one where the answers she seeks threaten to destroy her.

Set in the icy landscapes of Sweden and Norway, the series weaves a tale of intense psychological drama, intricate investigations, and a fierce will to uncover the truth. The story begins in Cold Reckoning as Avril returns to her childhood home to settle her late father's estate, only to discover disturbing clues that suggest a notorious killer—the Frost Killer—has returned, taunting her with memories of her mother's death. The past isn't just haunting her—it’s come alive in the form of a murderer who seems to know Avril better than she knows herself.

As Avril digs deeper, the series builds a richly layered world of dark secrets, unspoken family histories, and the thin line between sanity and madness. Each twist and turn leaves readers questioning not only the killer’s motives but Avril's own resolve to stay on the right side of the law. With every step closer to the truth, she risks losing herself in the same darkness that has consumed so many before her.

What sets this series apart is its ability to draw you into the snow-covered, isolated settings of Scandinavia, where every shadow and every whisper could be a clue or a trap. The Avril Dahl series is not just about catching killers—it's about confronting the monsters that dwell within. Fans of psychological thrillers, Scandinavian noir, and characters with hauntingly deep arcs will find themselves lost in a world that is as gripping as it is unsettling.
