Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore

Emily Krempholtz writes at the intersection of magic, emotion, and human connection, crafting stories where fantastical worlds feel grounded and characters grow in unexpected ways. Based in Colorado, she draws inspiration from the wide skies and mountain landscapes around her, weaving settings that feel alive with possibility while exploring themes of redemption, belonging, and self-discovery.

Before stepping into the cozy fantasy romance spotlight with her upcoming debut, Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore (Ace Books, 2025), Emily built a career guiding other writers as an editor, book coach, and ghostwriter, helping hundreds reach bestseller lists including USA Today and Publishers Weekly. This deep immersion in storytelling informs her own writing, giving her narratives a thoughtful, layered quality that blends charm, humor, and emotional resonance.

Her debut novel follows a reformed dark sorcerer’s right hand as she navigates a small magical town, uncovering the messy, delightful complexities of second chances, plant magic, and slow-burn romance. It exemplifies Emily’s gift for balancing enchanting world-building with deeply human character arcs, making her work accessible to readers who love fantasy threaded with heart and humor.

Beyond writing and editing, Emily brings creativity to all corners of her life, whether baking intricate book-inspired cakes, experimenting with vibrant hair colors, or wandering mountain trails while imagining new stories. As she continues to expand her literary presence, Emily Krempholtz is building a body of work that’s quietly distinctive, full of warmth, and unafraid to explore the spaces where magic and everyday life intersect.
