Years ago, CIA paramilitary officer Mark Pierce was infiltrated into the Russian special forces under an assumed identity—Arkady Volkov. That mission ended when Pierce faked his own death.

Present day, on a mission in Kuala Lumpur, Pierce encounters his former Russian commander, currently operating as an elite assassin known only as Rubicon. Now that the Russians realize he is alive, Pierce instantly has a target on his back.

But he has other things to worry about. A technologically superior Chinese hypersonic missile has crashed into Japanese territorial waters and Pierce and his team are tasked with its recovery. A dangerous mission which turns into something far deadlier when Rubicon begins to stalk them, determined to have his revenge.
