Ward Larsen writes thrillers that feel lived in, shaped by a life spent on the frontlines of risk and precision. Born in 1961, Larsen carved out a career as a fighter pilot during Operation Desert Storm, a federal law enforcement officer, and an airline captain, experiences that would later infuse his novels with technical authenticity and high-stakes realism. His firsthand knowledge of aviation, military operations, and covert procedures gives his suspense fiction a grounded intensity that few authors can match.
In 2004, Larsen introduced readers to David Slaton, a former Mossad operative whose lethal skills and moral complexity anchor the long-running Assassin series. Across novels such as The Perfect Assassin, Assassin’s Game, and Assassin’s Mark, Slaton navigates global conspiracies, high-stakes espionage, and personal codes of justice, keeping readers on edge while exploring the psychology of those who operate in shadows. Beyond Slaton, Larsen’s Jammer Davis series leans into his aviation expertise, mixing suspense with procedural depth, while stand-alone thrillers like Deep Fake examine the collision of technology, politics, and personal survival.
A USA Today bestselling author and multiple-time Florida Book Award recipient, Larsen has earned both critical and commercial acclaim. He has also collaborated with Brad Thor on Cold Zero and is set to enter the iconic Tom Clancy universe with Tom Clancy: Rules of Engagement, extending his reach in contemporary thriller fiction.
Larsen’s writing blends cinematic pacing, precise technical detail, and morally complex characters. Every aircraft maneuver, covert mission, and international plotline carries the weight of experience, creating thrillers that feel immediate, plausible, and compelling. For readers seeking espionage, military, and action thrillers with sharp plotting and authentic stakes, Ward Larsen delivers stories that pull you into danger and refuse to let go.
