What lurks in the deep? Five speculative fiction stories take you for a dive, not just into the water, but into the mind, and into the depths of another person. Above the surface and below, these individual stories connect in patterns and elements, nodding at each other, complementing each other’s themes, asking questions about humanity, boundaries, and identity. Sometimes the characters you meet are human, sometimes not, and sometimes it’s impossible to tell.

Lady of the Lake and other dives into the deep takes the reader into a fantastical past, present, and future, as well as utopia and decline. This collection includes four short stories, translated from Finnish, and the title novella, originally written in English.
