Set against a backdrop of global political intrigue, Silva's series weaves together historical events with contemporary struggles, creating a tension-filled narrative that pulses with both intellectual sophistication and edge-of-your-seat action. Each book takes Allon across the globe, where he uncovers plots that threaten not just Israel, but the very fabric of international security. From the hidden corridors of power to the delicate brushstrokes of art galleries, these stories delve into the undercurrents of the world’s darkest corners—terrorism, political deception, and the consequences of secrets kept too long.

What makes the Gabriel Allon series stand out is not just its tightly woven plots or intricate details of spycraft; it’s the emotional and moral dilemmas that haunt Allon with every mission. What Risingshadow readers think about this book

8/10

I thought the book was pretty good.  The story was different than all the other books in the series.  It held my interest but I wished that it had more art history in it.  Gabriel or anyone connected with him was never in any danger which is one of the reasons I don’t think this book was as good as most or all of the other books in the series.  The author’s dislike for the current American president comes through loud and clear again and I find it unnecessary.  While Gabriel is retired, i wish there was more connection to his past Israeli intelligence work.  Despite all that, I still recommend the book.
