The last Leshbolg holds the key to a city's survival.
Merritt Vale is no ordinary paranormal creature. She keeps this power hidden from even her closest friends in Little Avalon, fearing rejection if they discover her true nature.
All she wants is to belong, to build a life in this paranormal haven as the Guardian of Little Avalon and baker at Chaplin's Kitchen. When she rescues a rare echinemon named Akila, Merritt finds an unexpected companion who understands her completely.
Danger lurks in the shadows.
A dark mage named Alecto has infiltrated the deadly Boilblood assassins, led by valkyrie Ylva Blodamaekir. When Merritt becomes their target, she must face her fears and finally reveal her hidden abilities to her friends.
As Alecto's plans for destruction unfold, Merritt discovers the terrible truth: the dark entity intends to summon creatures of darkness to New York City, threatening the lives of eight million humans and paranormals alike.
Only by embracing her true nature can Merritt hope to save everyone she loves.
Will Merritt's newfound confidence and acceptance be enough to defeat the forces of darkness? Or will her revelation come too late to save the city – and herself – from Alecto's devastating power?
