Is this all one big trick of the universe or the best treat a girl could ask for?
Harper
I'm eagerly anticipating a Halloween party away from campus, even if this one is fairly tame. The most exciting part is the blue guy that keeps following me around. Until the next day when he shows up still blue and basically kidnaps me while insisting I claim him for the rest of eternity. I'm not saying I'm objecting exactly, but shouldn't we maybe meet each other's families first? Maybe go to a movie? Gotta say, those blue dimples are divine!
Otan
A mate wasn't anywhere on my to-do list. But getting away from the Center and mingling with some locals on the one day of the year when I can blend in definitely was. Until there she is. Cute, young, and feisty and all I can think about is getting her to claim me as my warrior ancestors have been doing for centuries. We bow to no one but our chosen mate. I'll be the envy of the Empire, having spotted her first.
Welcome to Haven County! Where all sorts of people and romance tropes intermingle. Their stories are all short steamy reads and you can follow along in order or read by genre:
Come meet the the guys born in other parts of the universe!
Note from the Author: The aliens have landed in Haven County! He may be blue with 'extra' features but he's still a cinnamon roll. Be willing to roll with how easily the citizens accept aliens in their midst - too much realism would violate the building code ;-)

What Risingshadow readers think about this book
This was a fun addition to the Escape to Haven County series and I enjoyed getting to know both Harper & Otan in this instalove short story. While it does begin with a Halloween party the story could be easily enjoyed anytime of year. I look forward to seeing what stories show up next in this series.
