About the Book
She went out searching for a killer. She never expected to find love…
Isabelle Berger has little interest in men. So when a boorish hunter proposes, the timid girl begs her protective father to decline on her behalf. But after her beloved papa is killed tracking a wolf with her would-be-husband, Isabelle flies into a rage and sets off in pursuit of the fiendish creature.
Thrown from her horse while hunting the beast, the bookish young woman is quickly drawn to the mysterious stranger who rescues her. But when her rugged savior loses his temper, Isabelle is terrified by the dark secret he’s hiding.
With nothing left for her at home, has she met her end, or is she about to discover a new beginning?
Cry Wolf is the first book in a thrilling YA shifter and historical romance series. If you like determined heroines, adorable heroes, and fresh takes on familiar stories, then you’ll love this dark retelling of Beauty & the Beast, inspired by the Beast of Gévaudan and the French Revolution.

What are HighTower Fairytales?
HighTower Fairytales lean more toward the original sources (NOT Disney) with rich semi-historical settings. They have magic. They have scary monsters. And, most importantly, they have unique and complex characters who are trying hard to improve themselves.
They also include plenty of humor and all the heroes marry their prince/princess charming and live happily ever after at the end!
Basically, these stories meant to inspire, but have a very difficult and occasionally dark tower to climb. They are conservatively marked at 14+ and are appropriate for teens and young adults.
Currently these stories include:
Winter Falls: A Tale of the Snow Queen (2017)
Cry Wolf: A Tale of Beauty and the Beast (2020)
Depths: A Tale of the Little Mermaid (2020)
Letters by Cinderlight: A Tale of Cinderella (2021)
Robin's Hood: A Tale of Sherwood Forest (2021)
And more on the way!!!
