A side quest in Dakota Krout's best-selling Completionist Chronicles series!
Vengeful assassins. A treacherous companion. T-Rex Head Hands.
After the Wolfman nation is shattered, Jaxon has enough spare time to advance his skills and specialize into a better class. Since Joe and his other teammates are either incapacitated or on a mission Jaxon does not believe in, the misunderstood chiropractor turned gamer strikes out on his own.
The issue with creating your own path is that you have no idea what awaits you, especially when low charisma guarantees legendary misunderstandings. For Jaxon, that’s half the fun.
Rexus is a Completionist Chronicles side quest focused on Jaxon and is meant to be read following Regicide.

But as the stakes grow higher, so do the consequences of success and failure.
Read full series description
What sets The Completionist Chronicles apart is its unique exploration of a world where the rules of gaming aren’t just for play—they shape every moment of the characters' lives. The protagonist, driven by an insatiable desire to "complete" his journey, finds himself facing not only the external threats of a dynamic, immersive world but the internal struggle between ambition and the toll that relentless pursuit takes on relationships, morality, and self. In this fast-paced series, every quest, every decision, every victory has weight.
Through its clever world-building, Krout delivers a universe rich with intricate systems, magical mechanics, and an array of characters that are as flawed as they are compelling. From combat-focused encounters to mind-bending puzzles, readers will find themselves rooting for a character who will stop at nothing to finish what he starts—yet risks losing himself in the process.
The series draws deeply from gaming culture, but it transcends it by adding layers of emotional complexity and philosophical questioning. It's about more than just completing the tasks at hand; it's about understanding what happens when you pursue perfection and whether it’s worth the cost. With each book, The Completionist Chronicles builds toward a deeper exploration of what it truly means to "win" in a world designed to challenge you at every turn.
For fans of LitRPG and epic fantasy alike, The Completionist Chronicles offers a blend of thrilling action, thoughtful character development, and a story that makes readers question what it means to truly "finish" a journey. Whether you're a gamer at heart or just someone looking for a story with high stakes and unforgettable characters, this series will pull you in and keep you hooked from beginning to end.
