When a young woman is pushed in front of a bus and dies, Cora Drakos, sleuth and owner of the renowned Athena diner, is asked to help find out who did it and why.  As she starts her investigation Cora begins receiving intimidating phone calls threatening her and her diner. She soon finds herself involved in a complicated case where where the facts keep changing and everything involves danger to her. Reasons need to be found, multiple suspects present a trail of deception, and amid these twists and turns, Cora realizes that the more she learns, the more her own life is endangered.
