Never After · #3
Wretched
Once Upon A Time,
there was a wicked girl.
She lost everything that mattered,
causing darkness to unfurl.
Impulsive and intelligent,
she helped her family name grow strong.
But then one day a man without a heart came along.
An undercover agent, meant to spy and bring back tips.
Following down her hidden path of faded yellow bricks.
She hated him, he wanted her;
she was too good to be true.
But a woman can be great...
and terrible too.
Wretched is a dark contemporary romance and the third complete standalone in The Never After Series: A collection of fractured fairy tales inspired by our favorite villains. It is not fantasy and it is not a retelling. Reader discretion is advised.
The series
In the Never After series, Emily McIntire takes well-known fairy tales and turns them inside out, giving villains their time to shine. What if the villains got their own story, one where love is complicated, redemption is hard-earned, and no one is as simple as they seem? This dark, seductive retelling of beloved characters invites readers into a world where the boundaries between hero and villain are blurred and every character carries scars—both literal and emotional.
