A Little Brown Book of Burials by Laird Barron

The eighth book in Little Book Series II is by one of the best writers of his generation — Laird Barron, and A Little Brown Book of Burials is a great intro to his work if you’ve never read him.

Laird Barron is the author of two novels, The Light Is the Darkness, and The Croning, and three collections, The Imago Sequence & Other Stories, Occultation & Other Stories, and The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All.  Barron’s short fiction has appeared in places such as The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Inferno: New Tales of Terror and the Supernatural, Lovecraft Unbound!, Black Wings: New Tales of Lovecraftian Horror, Clockwork Phoenix, and The Del Rey Book of Science Fiction and Fantasy and in numerous year’s best anthologies. Winner of the Shirley Jackson and Bram Stoker Awards, his books and stories  have been nominated for other honors such as the World Fantasy, International Horror Guild, Sturgeon, Crawford, and Locus awards.“If you think there aren’t any new Richard Mathesons or Harlan Ellisons out there, you need to read Laird Barron.” — Stewart O’Nan, bestselling author of A Prayer for the Dying

“Barron’s prose style resembles, by turns, a high-flown Jim Thompson mixed with a pulp Barry Hannah...”  — Adrian Van Young for Slate

“I’ve come to Laird Barron relatively late, but I’m adding him to my pantheon of greats (and I don’t use that word lightly).” — Adam Nevill, author of The Ritual

“Laird Barron is one of those writers who makes other writers want to break their pencils. I’m serious. His work is that good. Worse than that, he’s an original (damn him!), and the finest writer to join the ranks of the dark fantastic in a long, long time.” — Norm Partridge, author of Dark Harvest and Lesser Demons
