Paper Tigers
A fire took everything from Alison Reese. She hides her disfigurement from the world, venturing outside only beneath the cover of night. One evening, she braves the stare of a curio shop clerk and purchases an old photo album. She thinks the album nothing more than a curious relic until the night she’s pulled into its pages, into a world of parties and laughter, a world where she is whole.
When it’s time to return to the real world, her scars are still gone. At least until she falls asleep. She is compelled to return again and again, and each time she visits, it’s harder to leave, until the night she can’t. The façade of the paper world fades, leaving her in a house of decay and imprisoned ghosts, and if she can’t fight her way free, she’ll be added to the permanent guest list.
But once she finds her way out, the real fight begins, because the paper world isn’t willing to give her up.
