The City in the Sea

Isobel Noble

In Ruin, Book Three: The City in the Sea, Deke must train Beori’s peaceful people in the arts of war in order to overcome the incorporeal alien entity that feeds on the energy (or life force) of everything on Earth.

With Ourn Rohlvaag’s help, Deke addresses the psychological issues that have tormented him since his mother’s murder, hoping this will make his psyche less accessible to the alien invader, who by this time he realizes is seeking him out personally, attracted to his powerful psychic emanations. He begins to organize a modern army equipped with all Beori’s advanced technology to assault the enemy’s stronghold on the West Coast and set the Earth on a life-affirming path into the future.

The first three books of the dynamic new series, Ruin, offer a stirring vision of a post-apocalyptic future that both frightens and enlightens, and most certainly entertains. We’re taken on an exciting journey where alternating lifestyles and realities are revealed, each challenging us to examine our own values. The books offer insight on many controversial topics, including war & war crimes, revenge, love, betrayal, sexuality, monogamy, trust, and how we choose either to control or unleash whatever special powers or strengths we might possess, as individuals and as nations.
