About the Book
Virtual Mode is the first book in the Mode series, in which a man and woman from two alternate worlds face love and danger across time and space.
Colene, who lives a normal life on the outside, is filled with inner torments that only she knows about. When she finds a beat-up man lying in a ditch, she takes him home and feeds and shelters him in secret... and her life begins to change.
The man, named Darius, speaks a strange language and claims to have come from another world in search of a wife he could love. Colene thinks he is crazy. Darius is shaken by the revelation of her own dark inner nature. He leaves to return to his own world, and disappears before Colene's eyes.
Colene would do anything to find him again, and she sets off on the Modes, a pathway across the realities, in order to find Darius again.
