When an innocent soul is accidentally sent to Hell, loved ones can hire a certain specialist to return the soul to Purgatory. However, if the specialist dies in Hell proper, his soul is trapped there for all eternity. These specialists who risk damnation are known as Hell Cops.

Hell Cop Getter has begun another assignment: retrieve a ten-year-old girl. This time, however, a strange plot is brewing behind the normal dangers of Hell. Hell Cops are disappearing, including Getter's brother-in-law Dimitri, and an army is forming in secret. Teamed with an odd collection of Hell Cops and souls, Getter only wants to finish his mission, but whispers of prophecy have told of a war between Satan and Mephisto and named Getter as a man with a destiny.

"David Burton's Hell Cop is clever and twisted. The story is, by turns, frightening and funny, heartfelt and sarcastic. It's a must-read for anyone who likes their fantasy on the dark side." – Brian Kaufman, Round Table Reviews

"Here's Hell as you've never imagined it, jam-packed with action, adventure, Jump Bugs, Sling Spiders, and if you're lucky, a Hell Cop out to track you down and redeem your soul. Burton has concocted a richly detailed underworld where Satan is bored, sinners rule, and the good guys barely hang on by the skin of their teeth. Get ready for one hell of a ride!" – Glenna McReynolds, author of The Chalice and the Blade
