The Best of Philip José Farmer

Like Asimov, Bradbury and Heinlein, Philip José Farmer looms large in the field of science fiction and fantasy. In fact, Farmer's short fiction reads like a Baedeker to the genre: from is formative years when writers were still hemmed in by editorial censorship to more recent times when genre boundaries have become virtually nonexistent. Philip José Farmer has written about it all: sex, aliens, time travel, religion, the afterlife – sometimes all within the same story. And if this all-encompassing collection doesn't contain every agreed-upon classic or favorite from Farmer's oeuvre, it comes pretty darn close.
