The Company of Glory

The Company of Glory, which Pangborn describes as having "grown backward out of Davy", belongs to the Year 47 of this planet's imagined future, a time when man, struggling to rise above the ashes of nuclear holocaust, has returned to the simpler values and lifestyles of medieval times. In such a society, Demetrios the story-teller is revered for his captivating tales of the Old Time, with miraculous Telephones, and Jet Planes, and TV, and Automobiles. But Demetrios is also feared – for one story-teller with a head full of ancient truth can be dangerous.
