Fallion and Jaz, sons of the Earth King Garborn, have returned from their long exile. Yet they have arrived under cover of darkess, fugitives in their own kingdom. There seems little left to save, but Fallion’s heritage has given him a powerful calling to heal not just this land, but all lands – if he can master the flameweaver’s talent that threatens to consume him.

But he has an ancient enemy, skilled in the ways of evil, and she initiated the catastrophe that doomed the worlds of men. Many ages ago, a perfect world was split into fragments, and each fragment was but a distorted image of this golden age. If Fallion could but unite all these splinters, he could recreate the One True World of Legend, and heal the sickness in the realm.

But his adversary wants the One World for her own ends, and an army of darkness is on her side.

The Runelords

The series

Full series details →

In the epic Runelords series, a world on the brink of collapse is shaped by a unique and perilous magic—one where the power of individuals can be stolen, traded, or stolen away. At the heart of this universe lies a system of “runelords,” individuals who hold unimaginable power by bearing marks, or runes, that grant them extraordinary abilities. But this power comes with a cost: the ability to capture the essence of others, to borrow their strength, intellect, and even their very life force. In this fragile balance of domination and survival, every decision has profound consequences, and every alliance may come at a dire price.

What Risingshadow readers think about this book

6/10

I guess I could say that David Farland is a master of easy epic fantasy. Worldbinder is a similar easy-to-read fantasy book as the previous books.

I liked this book, but I can't say that it was excellent or perfect. I wish that Farland would try to change his writing style, because it would be nice to see if he could write more complex plots.

I can recommend Worldbinder to all readers, who like to read easy fantasy. This book is an excellent choice for readers, who want to read easy books during their summer holiday.
