Hankthemoose

Hankthemoose, the pen name of Micha Böttiger, is a German fantasy author whose work offers a refreshing twist on the genre. Drawing inspiration from the quiet, reflective moments of everyday life, Hankthemoose’s stories are more than just magical adventures—they are explorations of personal growth, struggle, and the complexity of human nature. Whether crafting a world filled with dragons or a small village on the brink of transformation, his work invites readers to delve deeply into the lives of his characters, whose struggles are often as internal as they are external.

Micha’s journey into fiction writing wasn’t a conventional one. After spending years as a freelance copywriter and gardener, he discovered that true creativity often blossoms in the most unexpected places. Writing, for him, was a way to channel the quiet reflections of his daily life into stories that resonated with readers. His debut novel, The Dragon's Gambit, introduces readers to the Underkeeper series, a progression fantasy filled with nuanced characters and richly built worlds.

What sets Hankthemoose apart is his unique ability to balance the epic scope of fantasy with the grounded, relatable experiences of his characters. Rather than relying on the typical tropes of heroes and villains, his stories focus on ordinary people forced into extraordinary situations. This approach has earned him a dedicated following on platforms like Royal Road, where his deep world-building and relatable protagonists continue to captivate readers.

In his downtime, Micha enjoys spending time with his family, his two cats, and the natural world around him—always finding inspiration in the small moments. When he's not writing, you can often find him engaging with fans online or reflecting on the deeper themes of his work, always striving to add complexity and authenticity to the worlds he creates. With each new book, Hankthemoose continues to craft stories that resonate long after the last page is turned, leaving readers eager for the next chapter in his ever-expanding universe.
