Jamie Applegate Hunter

Jamie Applegate Hunter writes the kind of fantasy romance that lingers long after the last page, stories where vengeance and desire collide in worlds bound by magic and shadows. Readers know her through series like Vincula Realm and Fae Kings of Eden, where flawed kings, haunted queens, and fated bonds unravel against realms marked by betrayal and impossible choices. Her novels often press into darker corners of fantasy, exploring what it means to love when power, memory, and survival are at stake.

Hunter’s path to writing was not a straight one. Raised in the pine woods of East Texas, she carried with her the weight of folklore and a fascination with the unseen. A degree in criminology and political science sharpened her understanding of human behavior—why people break rules, what drives them to protect or destroy. Those insights now pulse through her characters, who are rarely simple heroes or villains, but people scarred by loss, longing, and the ache of wanting something forbidden.

Her writing career began with a co-authored project in 2020, yet it was her first solo book, The Compeer, in 2021 that set her own voice free. Since then, she has expanded her worlds with titles such as The Umbra King, Aeternum, and Viciously Yours, each marked by intricate world-building and emotionally charged storytelling. Upcoming releases, including Tragically Yours, continue to draw anticipation from a growing base of fantasy romance readers.

Now based in Colorado with her husband and two children, Hunter writes at the intersection of myth and emotion. Her stories carry warnings for those who tread lightly, yet for readers drawn to morally gray characters, shattered kingdoms, and love forged in the fire of hardship, her books offer exactly the kind of dangerous beauty they seek.
