Jennifer Chase

Jennifer Chase is a writer whose keen insight into criminal psychology and her own experiences with crime and law enforcement shape every page she writes. With a background in police forensics and criminology, she doesn’t just tell stories—she immerses her readers in the chilling intricacies of human behavior and the darkness lurking beneath the surface.

Born and raised in California, Jennifer’s journey into the world of crime fiction began with her personal experiences and academic studies. After earning a degree in police forensics and a master’s in criminology, she felt a deep calling to merge her professional knowledge with her passion for storytelling. The result? A series of captivating crime thrillers that not only entertain but also provoke thought about the human condition.

Her debut novel, Compulsion, introduces readers to Emily Stone, a vigilante detective on a relentless pursuit of justice for victims who cannot speak for themselves. The series has garnered praise for its realistic portrayal of criminal minds and earned Jennifer multiple readers' choice awards. It’s clear that her work resonates with fans of taut psychological suspense and dark, intricate crime dramas.

But Jennifer’s talents extend beyond the world of writing. She has authored a non-fiction book, How to Write a Screenplay, and provides consulting services to fellow authors looking to navigate the complexities of publishing. She’s also been sought out for her expertise in criminology, offering insight into serial crimes and criminal profiling.

When she's not delving into the minds of her fictional killers or helping others craft their stories, Jennifer enjoys outdoor adventures, hiking, and photography with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. These passions, much like her writing, reflect a love of both the quiet moments and the deep, often shadowed mysteries of life.

In Jennifer’s world, crime isn’t just a plot device—it’s a fascinating puzzle that she dissects with an expert’s eye. Her stories are dark, gripping, and emotionally charged, weaving together her knowledge, passion, and experiences into tales that linger long after the last page is turned.
