Pari Thomson

Pari Thomson’s stories feel like stepping into a dream laced with wonder and wildness—a world where magic roots itself in nature and every leaf seems to whisper a secret. As the author of Greenwild, a middle-grade fantasy series that has quietly enchanted readers and booksellers alike, Thomson has carved out a unique corner in children's literature where the botanical and the fantastical collide.

Born in London but raised between the tropics of India and the gardens of the UK, Thomson's early life was rich with color, scent, and contrast—ingredients that now bloom across the pages of her writing. Her childhood was a tangle of books and banyan trees, and it’s this dual love of nature and narrative that now fuels her storytelling. Before she began crafting her own tales, she spent years championing the stories of others as a children’s book editor, giving her a deep understanding of what sparks young imaginations.

Thomson’s debut novel, Greenwild: The World Behind the Door, invites readers into a hidden realm where plants wield power and children carry the courage to protect what others have forgotten. Lyrical yet grounded, her prose doesn’t just entertain—it reawakens a reverence for the natural world and celebrates the quiet strength found in unlikely heroes. The book has drawn comparisons to The Secret Garden and His Dark Materials, though Thomson’s voice remains wholly her own: curious, poetic, and tinged with eco-consciousness.

Though still early in her author journey, Thomson has quickly become a name to watch in middle-grade fantasy. Her stories echo with environmental themes and the belief that wonder is never far away—just hidden behind the right door.
