XKarnation

When XKarnation first imagined a tree that could devour flesh to grow stronger, they weren’t in a shadowed forest or a candle-lit study—they were wading through job applications in the middle of a soul-numbing tech career hunt. That odd, lingering thought—what if a tree could evolve like a video game character?—grew into something far more potent than expected. It became the seed of Reborn as a Demonic Tree, a darkly humorous cultivation fantasy that flipped genre expectations on their head and caught fire with readers across Royal Road and beyond.

Based in London, XKarnation writes stories where the strange is normalized and the monstrous might just be misunderstood. Their breakout hit follows Ashlock, a sentient spirit tree awakening within a demonic sect, who gains power through a mysterious sign-in system—a concept that merges LitRPG mechanics with Eastern cultivation lore and a touch of gleeful absurdity. It’s not just another Isekai adventure; it’s a slow-burn tale of growth, power, and perspective told through bark, roots, and blood.

With millions of views, thousands of loyal readers, and a growing Patreon following, XKarnation’s work has resonated with fans of unconventional fantasy—especially those looking for something a little darker, a little weirder, and a lot more alive. Their prose dances between dry wit and vivid violence, often surprising readers with emotional depth just beneath the bark.

Though the author keeps a relatively low public profile, their storytelling speaks volumes—layered with game-like progression systems, moral ambiguity, and the eerie stillness of a tree that waits… and watches. If you're drawn to LitRPGs with bite, cultivation stories with soul, and fantasy that doesn’t flinch from the grotesque, XKarnation’s world is one worth getting lost in.
