CasualFarmer

CasualFarmer is a pseudonymous author who has quietly, but swiftly, made a name for himself in the world of fantasy with his wildly popular web serial, Beware of Chicken. Born in Ontario, Canada, and maintaining a relatively low profile, he has chosen to remain a bit of an enigma, preferring to engage with his readers online rather than through traditional public appearances. Despite this, his work has captured the imaginations of readers around the world, with the Beware of Chicken series amassing millions of views and solidifying his place as a fresh voice in the realm of lighthearted fantasy.

His writing style is as unique as the world he’s created: a humorous blend of martial arts, farming, and adventure. Beware of Chicken begins with Jin Rou, a cultivator who opts for the quiet life of farming over the chaos of martial arts conflict. This unexpected twist on the traditional cultivation genre has been a breath of fresh air, attracting readers who are looking for something a little different—a fantasy story that’s more about peace and personal growth than battles and power struggles.

CasualFarmer's influence comes from his ability to mix the absurd with the profound. His characters are endearing, and his narratives often explore themes of self-discovery and the satisfaction that comes from a slower, more contemplative life. His humor shines through every page, making his books an easy escape for readers who want both laughter and a bit of adventure. Though his books are filled with light moments, they also delve into deeper explorations of personal choice, relationships, and finding one’s true calling—be it in the midst of epic battles or simple farming.

Despite his growing popularity, CasualFarmer remains relatively mysterious. He has shared little about his personal life, but in a Reddit AMA, he jokingly described himself as "Suspiciously Canadian" and a "Maple fudge enjoyer," giving his online persona a relatable, charming touch. Through his interactions with fans, he reveals himself to be as down-to-earth as the world he creates, offering a refreshing contrast to the larger-than-life characters of his stories.

CasualFarmer’s journey from web serial to published author is a testament to the power of online communities and the new era of self-publishing. With multiple books in the Beware of Chicken series and more on the horizon, it’s clear that his unique storytelling voice has found a home in the hearts of fantasy fans everywhere.
