Devney Perry

Devney Perry writes with the heart of someone who knows small towns intimately, their secrets, their charm, and the way love can burn quietly before it takes over completely. Her novels, whether rooted in Montana’s rugged landscapes or unfolding in fantastical realms filled with monsters and magic, carry the same signature: deeply felt romance woven into worlds that feel lived-in and real.

Her road to publishing was not mapped out early. After years working in the tech industry, she stepped away to raise her children, only to find her creativity stirring during the quiet moments at home. What began as a single blank document soon became her debut novel, and from there, she never looked back. Since then, she has written dozens of books, from bestselling small-town romances to her newest foray into romantasy with Shield of Sparrows.

Readers gravitate to her stories not just for the swoon-worthy chemistry but for the way she grounds even the most extraordinary circumstances in human emotion. Longing, loyalty, and resilience are the threads that bind her characters together. In her contemporary romances, Montana’s sweeping scenery acts as both backdrop and character. In her fantasy work, myth and magic amplify the stakes but never overshadow the heart of the romance.

Her books have found wide success, landing on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. Shield of Sparrows launched to such strong anticipation that a film adaptation is already in development at Amazon MGM Studios, underscoring how her blend of romance and high-stakes storytelling resonates well beyond the page.

Now living in Washington with her husband and children, she writes daily, sometimes with action movies on in the background and always with candy close at hand. That blend of discipline and playfulness, of grit and heart, mirrors the very balance her readers find in her novels: stories that are as tender as they are unforgettable.
