Carissa Broadbent

Carissa Broadbent writes stories that blend the extraordinary with the intimately personal, taking readers on journeys where magic is woven into the fabric of everyday life. Known for her immersive world-building and deeply emotional character arcs, Carissa's work transports readers to fantastical realms where romance and high-stakes adventure collide.

Before becoming a full-time author, Carissa was immersed in the world of cybersecurity marketing by day and crafting her own stories by night. This dual life—one grounded in technology, the other in imagination—fueled her ability to create worlds that feel both vibrant and lived-in, where the stakes are as high as the emotions. Her debut series, Crowns of Nyaxia, made waves in the fantasy community, particularly her first book, The Serpent and the Wings of Night. Blending romance, dark magic, and complex moral dilemmas, it quickly gained a dedicated following, especially among fans of emotionally charged fantasy.

Carissa's rise in the literary world wasn't instantaneous. She self-published her work at first, slowly building a reader base and gaining recognition. With The Serpent and the Wings of Night, the series garnered viral attention on platforms like TikTok, catapulting her into the spotlight and eventually landing her a publishing deal with Bramble, an imprint of Tor. The series now sits on bestseller lists, a testament to the passion and connection her work has inspired in readers.

But it’s not just about magic for Carissa. Her books are built on themes of love, grief, and redemption—stories where characters, no matter their strength or flaws, must grapple with their pasts and fight for the futures they deserve. Her latest novel, The Songbird & the Heart of Stone, continues this trend, inviting readers into a world where the boundaries between gods and mortals blur, and the heart’s desires are often the most dangerous things of all.

When she's not immersed in her fantasy worlds, Carissa lives in Rhode Island with her fiancé, two rabbits, and a cat whose skeptical gaze often mirrors her own. A creator at heart, she continues to weave complex, heartfelt tales that will keep you turning pages late into the night.
