Sue Lynn Tan

Sue Lynn Tan is a rising star in the world of fantasy literature, known for her captivating blend of rich cultural mythology and lush, immersive storytelling. Born in Malaysia, Sue Lynn’s passion for stories was ignited at a young age, when her father gifted her a collection of fairytales from across the globe. This early exposure to diverse legends and tales planted the seeds for a writer whose imagination has since blossomed into worlds as magical as they are complex.

Her debut duology, Daughter of the Moon Goddess and Heart of the Sun Warrior, stands as a powerful testament to her unique voice in fantasy. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese myth of Chang’e, the moon goddess, Sue Lynn brings to life a world of gods, legends, and fierce warriors. With lush descriptions, intricate world-building, and a heart-stirring exploration of love, destiny, and sacrifice, her books have become beloved by readers around the world. The duology’s success has propelled her into the spotlight, earning spots on USA Today and Sunday Times bestseller lists and being translated into multiple languages.

Sue Lynn’s journey as a writer was shaped by a love for magical worlds that took root in her childhood. After studying in both London and France, she settled in Hong Kong, where she continues to draw inspiration from the landscapes and cultures around her. Her writing reflects her deep connection to both her Malaysian roots and the global myths she adores, crafting stories that feel as timeless as the myths they’re inspired by.

When she’s not crafting sweeping narratives of love and magic, Sue Lynn can be found exploring the hills and lakes near her home, indulging in her love for bubble tea and spicy food, or, rather humorously, admitting that she can’t cook to save her life. Yet, it’s her talent for weaving together the threads of ancient legends with modern themes that truly sets her apart in the fantasy genre, earning her a place among readers who crave something both familiar and wonderfully new.

With each new project, Sue Lynn Tan proves she’s a voice to watch in fantasy, crafting stories that resonate with readers long after the last page is turned.
