Fate's Thread

Sophie Kim’s Fate’s Thread series blends Korean mythology, contemporary fantasy, and slow-burning romance in a world where ancient gods, supernatural creatures, and restless spirits move among ordinary mortals. At its heart is the unlikely relationship between Kim Hani, a legendary nine-tailed fox once feared as the Scarlet Fox, and Seokga, a fallen trickster god whose sharp tongue and complicated past make him as infuriating as he is intriguing.

Hani has abandoned her soul-devouring ways for a quieter existence working in a coffee shop, while Seokga finds himself investigating supernatural disturbances that threaten the balance between the mortal and divine realms. When a dangerous mystery brings them together, their mutual irritation gradually gives way to an attraction neither is eager to acknowledge.

Drawing on Korean folklore and the belief that an invisible red thread connects destined souls, the series explores love, redemption, identity, and second chances. From the bustling streets of modern Korea to the mysterious realms of gods and spirits, Fate’s Thread weaves supernatural intrigue with humor, emotional vulnerability, and the enduring question of whether destiny can truly be escaped.
