Betrayal, fated mates, demon battles, and a werewolf king—this book has everything. Hunter and Chasen’s stories had me hooked from start to finish, especially with Jin and the fierce dhampir Freja entering the mix. An incredible continuation of the series and I’m already excited for the next book.
I listened to the audio book. Many times, I found it difficult the narrator’s French accent for Poirot. The English accents were hard to understand at times. I suggest reading the book. I would guess I would rate it higher in this format as the story itself was pretty good.
I really liked the story even though many of the actions by the title character were unrealistic for a young boy.
Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls #1)
This book was really fun to read with an interesting plot that keeps you wondering what will happen next. I really liked all the different characters and seeing how they developed throughout the book as well as seeing how the various relationships changed throughout the book. I am really looking forward to the next book!

I originally read this without having read the prequel book Turned at Dark and while it is easy enough to read book first the prequel does a really nice job of introducing the world and Della's character.
Awake at Dawn (Shadow Falls #2)
This book was a great continuation from book 1 Born at Midnight and I really enjoyed seeing how all the characters and their relationships are growing. I can't wait to see what happens next in Taken at Dusk.
As usual, I really enjoyed the book. I liked how the characters and relationships continue to grow. I generally don’t like books with this type of crime but the author avoided gory descriptions of the crime.
I was really happy to get to read about how Roan & Abigail got together in this book after the brief glimpse of their story in Once Upon a Cat about Thea & Nathaniel (Roan's brother). While each story is great as a standalone they are even better when you have read both. Roan's dog beastie was also a really cute side character. The epilogue was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to reading about how Conrad and Linnea get together in A Taste of Tea and Tenderness: A Cozy Fantasy Thumbelina Retelling.

In a time when satan wants a lot of people (even other "Christian" people) to go against genuine Christian people by trying to force people to believe its' lies about God's Creation and people it is nice to always be assured that no matter what kind of situation satan tries to generate for people to easierly believe its' lies that those lies will always be false and that we can always trust in the Truth God gives. This book series helps with that that helps to address some if not all the modern ways satan is trying to deceieve people to go against God's Will by believing its' lies about well meaning people. Very nice. Remember: "Evil" is believing that things that are of God (like all of Creation) don't belong to Him. Sorry if the previous sentence(s) seem worded weirdly but it is correct english.
This was another fun story full of adventure and great characters! I really enjoyed getting to know Levant & Felicia as well as the adorable Revenant companion Auby that Levant finds at the beginning of the story. The epilogue at the end was also so much fun! I look forward to reading the next book about Ekkire and Jasmine.

Another excellent anthology from the British Library featuring stories from relatively obscure authors who all deserve to be better known.
If I had to pick a favourite it would be "The Underbody" by Alison V. Harding.
I loved Ben & Sara's story in this newest addition to the Fairhaven Falls series and thought their meet cute was adorable. As always Flora is such a fun side character and her matchmaking and ability to manipulate people is so entertaining. The children in Sara's kindergarten class have a few fun scenes in this story as well. I am looking forward to reading the next book Guarded by My Gargoyle and getting to know Garrick better and seeing how he feels when he's Flora's matchmaking target.

I really enjoyed getting to read Jeltom's story after having briefly met him in Claimed by the Alien Mercenary and I thought him & Mariska made a great couple. Getting to read how Jeltom & Mariska's relationship comes together was fun and his Valentine's Day planning was so sweet. The epilogue at the end was also a lot of fun. I look forward to reading more stories set in this world and maybe even getting to read a story about Avertom in the future.

It's scary how relevant this book's message about education and how satan gets people to believe its' lies about it (primarily what education is supposed to teach and how to use that in our present world). The mayor is not genuinely doing evil.
I have loved each book in the Alien Wolf Tales Series so far and this Rumpelstiltskin Retelling met my expectations. Tarek & Jessa made a great couple in this story and I really liked Jessa's ten year old sister Dani as well and how she completed their little family unit. I look forward to continuing this series of that blends Alien romance with Fairy Tale Retellings so well.

Carrie is a harsh book with its theme of school bullying. Although the horror focuses on telekinesis and its power, I found the saddest and most terrible part of the story to be the young girl's bullying experienced, both at home and at school. The structure of the book is fragmented, which was a little distracting, but I understand it as a writer's stylistic choice. I read the 2024 Finnish translated edition of the book, which included a fairly long foreword by Margaret Atwood.
Mexican Gothic has an authentic Gothic atmosphere, even though it is set in 1950s Mexico. However, the setting is just right: a remote, cold, dark, and stuffy mansion with an oppressive atmosphere. The main character Noemí's cousin Catalina is in trouble in the home of her English husband's family. Although the characters lack credibility, I liked the haunting atmosphere of the story. This Mexican Gothic story is a success.
I really enjoyed this newest addition to the Monster Mercenary Mates series and getting to know Jaxin & Danitalin. Seeing how the relationship between Jaxin & Dani grew as the story unfolded was entertaining and I also liked the Radin Giant Taktak that they befriend. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I loved Mitch & Tasia in this mash up of Little Red Riding Hood & Cinderella! This story blends both fairy tales together into a very entertaining read full of interesting characters and a few twists along the way. The relationship between Mitch & Tasia was fun to see develop and the epilogue at the end was great.

I was so happy to finally get to see Thea & Nathaniel work things out with one another in this unique Frog Prince Retelling with Nathaniel becoming a cat instead of a frog. Seeing Nathaniel and Ginger interaction while he was a cat was also really fun. I also enjoyed the scenes with Nathaniel's brother Roan and am looking forward to reading about how him and Abigail get together in Beastly Dreams.

This is such a great series that blends alien romance with fairy tale retellings in a way that works really well. Each book in this series features a different couple and fairy tale so they can be read as standalone stories and this book was a retelling of The Little Mermaid with Valrek & Ariella. I enjoyed getting to know both these characters as well as Valrek's adorable six year old daughter Lilani. I am also looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This was a great addition to the Hillcrest Hollow Shifters series and while each book features a different couple and probably could be read as a standalone story it does have a continuous plot as well and is better appreciated as a series. This book is about Luther (vampire) & his human mate Jade. I really enjoyed their story as well as LOVED Luther's adorable bat familiar Belfry. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and hope I read the hints right and that it will be about Jane's friend Maggie & Thorne.

I loved this twist on Wild Swans and Jack and the Beanstalk and how well the two were blended together. This was my first retelling for Jack and the Beanstalk but I have read several for Wild Swans since it is among my favorites. Atlas & Lindy (Belinda) were great characters and I enjoyed their banter and seeing how protective Atlas was as he saw through her armor. I was glad to see the princes learn their lesson and to appreciate and care for Lindy as the story progressed and the end was so fun. I look forward to reading more books in this multi author series as well as from Sarah Beran in the future.

I really enjoyed this story and thought it worked well as a standalone since I haven't read Hot Wolf in the City yet (it is on my TBR List). This story revolves around Adrian & Harper and they make a really interesting couple that help each other work through each others trust issues to form a strong relationship by the end. The epilogue at the end was really sweet and I look forward to reading more about Derek and Julie's relationship in the first book.
