Noonshade

BOOK REVIEW

Noonshade

James Barclay

6/10Written Nov 14, 2007

Noonshade is the second book of the Chronicles of The Raven trilogy.

Noonshade is a bit better and more enjoyable fantasy book than the first book. I'm not saying that this book is excellent, but it's good average fantasy, if you're interested in light fantasy.

Dawnthied is the first book of the Chronicles of The Raven trilogy.

I decided to read this book, because it was recommended to me. In my opinion this book is okay, but I've read much better and more interesting fantasy books.

This book is average fantasy, but it may be of interest to some readers.

Douglas Adams

10/10Written Nov 11, 2007

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a classic science fiction book. I love this book and I've read it a couple of times. It's an amazingly funny and entertaining book.

If you call yourself a science fiction fan and haven't read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you should buy it as soon as possible. It's a hilarious book and it's definitely worth reading.

Eragon

BOOK REVIEW

Eragon

Christopher Paolini

4/10Written Nov 11, 2007Edited Dec 23, 2007

Eragon is the first book of the Inheritance series.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I began to read Eragon. I had heard many bad and good reviews about this book. That's why I was a bit cautious when I read it.

Eragon isn't a spectacular fantasy book, but it's a readable book. The writing is often quite horrible, but I must confess that I've read worse books.

I finally decided to give this book two stars, because there are worse fantasy books out there.

The Land of Laughs

BOOK REVIEW

The Land of Laughs

Jonathan Carroll

8/10Written Nov 11, 2007

The Land of Laughs was a nice and pleasant surprise, when I read it a couple of years ago. It was an interesting and entertaining fantasy book.

I can recommend The Land of Laughs to all fantasy fans who like good stories. It's Jonathan Carroll's best book.

The King of Elfland's Daughter

BOOK REVIEW

The King of Elfland's Daughter

Lord Dunsany

10/10Written Nov 11, 2007Edited May 19, 2008

The King of Elfland's Daughter is a classic fantasy book. It's without a doubt one of the best known fantasy classics. It's an old book, but it's quite good.

The best thing about this book is the prose. The prose is beautiful and that's the main reason why I like this book so much.

The story is interesting, but I must admit that it's a bit simple. That's why the story can't be compared to modern masterpieces. There are probably many readers, who won't like this book because of the simple story.

If you've never read this book, you should consider reading it. I'm sure that you'll like it - especially if you appreciate beautifully written prose.

Pet Sematary

BOOK REVIEW

Pet Sematary

Stephen King

8/10Written Nov 11, 2007Edited Apr 30, 2010

Pet Sematary is one of Stephen King's best books. In my opinion this book is much better than any of King's new books, which are often quite bad (and boring).

Pet Sematary is an interesting, macabre and a bit disturbing book. It's a classic horror book - that's why you'll either like it or you'll hate it. I liked Pet Sematary, because it's a good old-fashioned horror book.

In my opinion this book is worth reading, because it shows how good a writer Stephen King used to be. If you've read King's newer books, you'll notice easily how different and how much better this book is from them.

Cycle of the Werewolf

BOOK REVIEW

Cycle of the Werewolf

Stephen King

8/10Written Nov 11, 2007Edited Nov 11, 2007

Cycle of the Werewolf is quite a good and entertaining horror book.

When I read this book, I immediately liked it. I still like it and think that it's one of Stephen King's best books. It's a shame that King doesn't write this kind of stories anymore.

If you like horror books and werewolf stories, I'm sure that you'll enjoy this book.

The Gunslinger

BOOK REVIEW

The Gunslinger

Stephen King

4/10Written Nov 11, 2007

Gunslinger is the first book of The Dark Tower series.

Many people have praised this book, but I must say that this book is pretty weak and so are the other books in this series. I thought that this book would be much better and more entertaining. I was very disappointed in it.

Night Shift

BOOK REVIEW

Night Shift

Stephen King

10/10Written Nov 11, 2007

I don't like Stephen King's recent books very much, but his early books and short stories are quite good and entertaining. In my opinion Night Shift is the best book of Stephen King.

Night Shift contains many classic horror short stories and the best of them is Jerusalem's Lot, which is a homage to H.P. Lovecraft. Jerusalem's Lot is without a doubt Stephen King's best short story.

I also like Children of the Corn, The Mangler and Sometimes They Come Back.

If you like good and entertaining horror stories, you should read this book.
